Art editor

Do you have a passion for the arts? Are you an artist yourself? Then join the Middleground team as our new Art Editor. 

Requirements:

  • A love for the arts.

  • Knowledge of different types of media, techniques, styles, etc.

  • The ability to critique art and give feedback.

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Strong aesthetic sense, to be able to pick the right pieces for Middleground and pair them with written pieces.

What do we need from you?

  • A few hours to go through submissions before each issue comes out. 

  • Great communication skills, both with the rest of the team and with each contributor.

  • A reliable, professional and approachable attitude, and a team spirit!

Who can apply?

Prose editor

Do you have a passion for literature? Are you maybe a prose writer yourself? Then join the Middleground team as our new Prose Editor. 

Requirements:

  • A love for all things prose.

  • Knowledge of different styles, genres, and voices — whether that's fiction or non-fiction.

  • The ability to critique writing, edit pieces and give feedback.

  • Impeccable written English and great attention to detail.

  • A good understanding our Middleground's voice and mission to be able to pick the right pieces for Middleground.

What do we need from you?

  • A few hours to read, edit and finalise submissions before each issue comes out. 

  • To work with the content team to deliver the finished pieces on time and decide on the order of appearance.

  • Great communication skills, both with the rest of the team and with each contributor.

  • A reliable, professional and approachable attitude, and a team spirit!
